Hidden
Watching the specimen run the course, Hojo growled. It had stopped progressing, just as the failure had. Which made no sense at all. And he no longer had the failure to compare traits with, thanks to that worthless recreation project. Damn the creature for escaping. The orders were for termination, and he had gleefully signed off on them.
Damnit. Four years of research, gone. Worthless.
Now this specimen was stalled as well. Dead ended, just as the failure had.
It showed no more signs of increasing intelligence, and he growled whenever he saw the glowing blue eyes focus on him with what seemed like it was studying him. Stupid beast.
At least the new cloning attempts were going well, and he was preparing things for the Reunion.
Spatting orders at the helpless lab assistances, he stalked out of the room.

As the scientist left the room, abandoning it to those who weren’t so observant, he paused in the course run, studying the room again.
The stupidhuman was dismissing him. That was good. There was nothing left for him to learn here. He could hear things whispering in the back of his head, and he didn’t like it, so he wanted to get out.
And he would get out. It was just a matter of time and planning.
