kemis, and suddenly this ficlet popped up in my head. forgottenlover gave me the title. Tell me what you think.
He was so tired. Tired of the fighting and the bloodshed and the battles that he never seemed to be able to escape.
Ever since Nibelhiem, when this whole nightmare had started. When fire and fear and a single hope had lead to the death of a town and the loss of innocence.
He was tired of death, of thinking he was finally free, finally able to rest, and then being sent back again and again and again.
He was just tired, now.
But this time…. This time had been different.
Zack’s scent filled his nose, and Zack’s arms held him tight. In his ears, Zack’s voice was low and gentle, and in that voice was the words he always wanted to hear.
“It’s time to rest. You don’t have to go back. You can rest, safe, here with me.
Sleep, my Sephiroth, sleep and know you are loved.”
Hope everlasting is the most beautiful and the most tormenting of human feelings. But it is always a sweet thing when it come true at last.

It was just in my head that, as tired as Cloud must be, Sephiroth must have been just as tired. He's the one that keeps dying.

A lot of people are all like 'woe!Cloud has to fight all the time' but some don't stop to think that it's Sephiroth that keeps coming back and doesn't stay in one place.
:) It's nice to see him rest.
