Ed suppressed as wince as the ground slowly moved away. Obviously he hadn’t hidden it well enough, however, as Masuta chuckled and gripped his shoulder.
“Mr. Elric, relax. These things are perfectly safe.”
Ed didn’t ever resist the urge to roll his eyes as he huddled into his coat, determined to keep his eyes on the floor in front of him, and not the view outside.
For a moment, his vision was full of fire, and there was pain through his back and chest. Blinking rapidly, he forced the memories away.
“Safe, right,” he muttered. “Like things don’t fall out of the sky all the time.”
And, because of Sloth, an omake:
Ed and Masuta watched as the zeppelin slowly folded in on itself. They were silent as the rest of the airfield watched in the same amazed horror.
"'Perfectly safe'. Right, Masuta, right."
Somehow, Masuta was sure he wasn't going to live this one down for a while.
