Gah! Fanfiction based on a fanfiction. It's slashy, and I can't blame anyone except all the people who kept talking about Masuta/Ed pairings. And that was a lot of people.
Based on the Alter!Series, which is found here. Not part of canon, but fun to write.
Spoilers for episode 51. Do not read if you haven't seen that.
“And if we follow this road to the end, we should be able to cut off two days of travel time.”
Grinning as he looked up from the maps, Ed paused, then his eyes narrowed.
Masuta was smiling slightly, eyes almost soft as he watched Ed. Something in those dark eyes made Ed was to fidget. He resisted the urge to shift, but he couldn’t keep the growled “What” behind his teeth.
The smile curled into an almost familiar smirk, and Ed felt his chest twist, just a bit.
It must have shown on his face, because the smile/smirk faded from Masuta’s face. He rose and leaned forward. Long fingers cupped the back of Ed’s head and pulled him forward. Then soft lips pressed against his, and Ed stared at the dark-haired man for a moment in shock before his eyes fluttered shut.
Slowly, Masuta pulled away, and Ed blinked owlishly at his traveling companion.
“You should smile more. Much better than when you drift around like a ghost.”
Letting go of Ed, Masuta stepped away. “We leave early, so I suggest you get some sleep.”
Then he walked away, almost bouncing.
Ed stood at the table, blinking, for a long time after.
Whee! I'm on crack!

It was fascinating to watch Mustang. A casual gesture, a smile, perhaps a word or two, and ladies melted to his feet in puddles of pink love goo. The man loved it, it was evident on his face each time he flirted. His smirk was always a little broader after yet another pretty female died under his charming manners. It seemed that the eye patch was only an added card in his game, the card of the sexy wounded war hero, even though he hadn't been wounded at war exactly.
Masuta thought he was jealous. He just would never have been able to do such things. He told Mustang exactly that, one morning, after watching him murder the librarian with a puppy like look.
"Of course you could," retorted Mustang. "We're from the same mold and that is a sexy, sexy mold. You just need practice."
Masuta gave his look alike a sour look. "Practice? On who?"
Roy stepped closer, tilting Masuta's chin up with a finger. "I am a master of the art of seduction, I can certainly teach anybody." His smirk spoke volumes.
“I need practice,” repeated Masuta, and his throat felt dry.
“Exactly,” purred Roy, leaning closer. “Lots of practice.”
Well, that didn’t sound bad at all.

Masuta, who had pulled back once he heard Ed's footsteps, blushed as golden eyes studied him. Roy, on the other hand, only smirked at Ed's appraising look. "What's wrong, Fullmetal? You're suprisingly quiet."
For a moment, Ed didn't say anything. Then he grinned, and the expression reminded Masuta of Roy. At least he now knew where Ed had picked up that look.
"Nothing's wrong," purred the blond as he walked over towards them. "Just thinking how damn attractive that was."
"Really," squeaked Masuta, not expecting that.
"Of course," Ed said, his tone dangerous,"if you are going to kiss my man, you have to include me as well."
Roy's eye glinted as he smirked. "Well, I'll see what I can...mmph!"
Masuta leaned back and decided that Roy being yanked into a kiss was quite attractive. Maybe he could learn something from this as well.

Unfortunaly, my bunnies think so as well. They keep trying to lure me into writing a Roy/Ed/Masuta/Riza story, and, as if that's not bad enough, sometimes they want to throw Al in as well. Like I have any idea on where to even start when it will involve five bodies in bed. *grumbles* Stupid muses.
Maybe

I find it amusing that we've both joined in with it. Yay Alter!Series. Maybe she'll let us do a slashy AU to it.
*now wants to write Masuta into her AU*

And, yes, Masuta/Ed is pretty. And Roy/Ed/Masuta is even better.
