The idea was nice, but... if Aeris is the mystical, mysterious, almost godly character in FFVII, why was Tifa of all people cast as Tia Dalma, and Aeris as Elisabeth? If they wanted to make a point of putting Cloud and Aeris together, it would be better to just not have him as Will, I think - maybe make him Jack's emo brother (...though Sephiroth would make a better one, what with carrying his mom's head around...).

Oooh, I dunno. Scrapping characterization for shipping purposes is my biggest peeve. *twitch twitch* Aeris just plain makes a better Tia Dalma...

I don't think they had a choice, there's no vids of Tifa and Zack interacting as far as I know. So Aeris had to be Elizabeth because she's in scenes with both Cloud/Will and Zack/Jack

I say don't do it, only because we already know the plot, even if you change how some scenes go, the story overall won't surprise us. If you just take the bare minimum of the idea, though, that might work.

I'm also somewhat biased because the video has it Cloud/Aeris and that pairing for some reason always rubs me the wrong way.

In another note, I wish the trailer had Davy Jones speaking, if only to have Sephiroth with that voice.
