I'm seriously considering a SOLDIER focused com. Why? Because I'm a SOLDIER fangirl. Would anyone be interested, or do you guys think that would be overly focused for a com.

Course, this is coming from a girl who has a com over just Naruto/FFVII crossovers.


Also, question.

Because I'm lazy and don't want to play FFVII again right this moment, does anyone remember if Cloud ever specifically says he failed SOLDIER? I know he wasn't going to go back to Nibelheim until he was one, and that's why he hid his face, but does he ever say he actually was denied? *can't recall*

I'm just on the third disk, playing it through for the first time ever, and I don't remember him explicitly saying it so far, no... But I could be wrong.

according to http://members.fortunecity.com/sephkatana/ff7stuff/ff7disc2.txt In Disc 2 he says "I... never made it as a member of SOLDIER." (going through the flashback of Zack, Cloud & Sephiroth on the way to Nibelhelm)
Later on "I never was in SOLDIER. I made up the stories about what happened to me five years ago, about being in SOLDIER. I left my village looking for glory, but never made it in to
SOLDIER......" (in scene 120 in the Highwind)

Hmm. Which isn't exactly a "I failed out" as much as "I never was one"....

This is true, though it seems pretty clear that that was his goal. Maybe he hadn't actually tried out and been flunked. For one thing, we don't really know what the process is :/ But either way he could have said the same thing.

I wonder if anything was said in CC.

The impression I always got was that he was a washout, but that could have just been my interpretation.

I mean, it could be that he simply hadn't finished his training/application, but if it was impossible to make SOLDIER in the time that he had been in Midgar, why would he be embarrassed about not making it yet? I understand that he was not liked in Nibelheim, but it seems to me that he was ashamed that he hadn't made it yet, which implies some fault or inability on his part.

But, I don't remember them explicitely saying that he failed/washed out.
