The feel of Jenova and Sephiroth was almost tangible, a sickly sweet taste in the back of Cloud's throat as he spun around. This place was as close as any to sacred, especially for him. How -dare- Sephiroth come here?

He was blinded for a moment, the sun reflecting off the flowers and the pool of water. When his vision cleared, he froze, eyes going wide.

The smile was the same, bright and cheerful, framed by a mess of black hair. The eyes were closed as the man spoke.

"We're friends, right?"

Zack grinned at the blond, and Cloud's heart froze.

Sephiroth was looking at him from behind Zack's face, eyes green and cat-slit.

Seeing the reaction, the grin spread more, turning feral.

"I guess I should have done this years ago. Can you do it, Cloud?" A familiar purr.

"Can you kill the man who saved your life?"
