*facepalm* Er, wait. I read that wrong. *cringe* A sure sign that I should be in bed. Although, now that I've read it right... it's still an intresting concept. It would throw a bit more animosity/distance between Seph and Zack, that's for sure, and it would also remove the general/soldier dynamic. o.O Would Zack even be the Zack we know? Would he get assigned to Nibelheim? How would he interact with Cloud? If he's a Turk instead of a SOLDIER, how would he take the mako experiments with Hojo? O.o

I think Zack would still be very much like Zack. I still think that half of the dork we see when he's older is a cover. He's competent, and I bet it's as much a shield and a deflecting aspect as anything else.

But, mmm, that's an interesting concept in my brain. Seph wouldn't have the bonds to Zack he does now, but I can see Zack still trying to be friends, especially if he started out in the SOLDIER program, then was snatched up by the Turks instead.

Now I want to know how you read that as.

That is true, but he feels very strongly about Cloud - would those feelings develop as a Turk for an army trooper? Why? How would it be different?

He does. I'm curious on that, myself. Mostly, I think, it all would depend on how they met, and just how Zack took to being a turk.

Zack as a Turk is a frightening, shiny thing, and I'm trying to hide from it so hard.

Pfft. Have you /seen/ my to do list lately? And then I went and joined het_challenge again. Not that I'm not excited for it, because I totally, totally am (the requests I got ROCK), but it was probably a bad idea given that I'm already in three different holiday exchanges and still working on other fics.

All I have are carrots to share. I find they keep the bunnies away from /me/ if I throw them at someone else's bunnies. ^____^ It works well. ^______^

I'm trying to stay away from het challenge. Probably Yaoi challenge as well. When Kinkfest gets going again, I'll probably join that. I seem to give the mods nervous fits with my writing style, so I just save us all stress by not doing them.

And I have plenty of carrots. I need to give them, and the bunnies attached, away. Hmm, we need to find some poor soul to swamp with ideas.

Combine these with long sleeves and trousers to reduce the chances of getting bitten by new bunnies before the previous lot have been dealt with. Failing that, take lots of iron supplements, since plot bunnies in my experience tend to be somewhat keen on drawing blood.

The best design for a plotbunny hutch involves cast iron and railway sleepers in the majority of the construction.

:blinks: I don't think Tseng would be willing to have Zack and Reno contaminating each others thoughts even further than they probably do when Zack's a SOLDIER. He'd go mad with all of the stuff they could pull together. At least when Reno's a Turk and Zack's a SOLDIER they can be sent on missions AWAY from each other.
It'd be like that one fic idea that happened when Bard Linn and Artismudin(?) hijacked your post where Cloud became a Turk and Tseng went to Sephiroth and basically said 'take him, I'll do whatever you want me to do, just take him.' And eventually agrees to give Seph Hojo's head on a platter and more information on certain missions...
I just don't think it'd work long. Don't get me wrong, Zack'd be a scary Turk, but the bosses wouldn't be able to deal with him AND Reno.

I think Tseng would have to institute Turk Special Rule #339: Zack and Reno are not to be allowed on the same continent for any length of time.

...Now I'm getting Turk Special Rules bunnies. Great. (Because you just know they have lots of them! And the number probably tripled once Reno joined.)

I'm in the same boat, only I have final papers along with the exams, boo hiss.
And the special rules thing would not only triple if Zack joined as well, it'd be cubed with every action Zack and Reno would take. Which is why Tseng would find some way to get rid of one or the other, whether through transferring, or possibly hoping they'd stop coming back after missions. ^_^;
I bet SOLDIERs also have special rules, that increased a lot when Zack joined too.
