What if Jenova could only fully and completely infect female organisms?
She could influence, manipulate, and control males who carried her infection, but true infection could only happen to females. Males could only be carriers. A male who was carrying the Jenova infection around could have it, but it wouldn't be considered a true infection. He got some benefits, and some not so happy quirks, but for most people, they just ignore her and go on their merry way.
However, if said infected male had a daughter, she could eventually be totally infected and consumed by Jenova. Then you get things like in the tank in the reactor.
And that's why they didn't have any female SOLDIERS.
My brain is -odd.- Make it stop.
