I just sent in my first attempt to publish for profit. *flaaaaails* Before, all I've ever done is fanfic or submissions to school journals. Money! Not much, but some.
Gods, I'm freaking out.
It's nothing big. Maybe five, ten bucks if they pick it. But it'll be something I could put in a profile, and say "look, people -paid- for my story"
*flails more* Lets watch me freak out. Hopefully I'll hear back within a week. Knowing my luck, they'll decline it, but I know the head teacher at my college's department liked it. He's the one who made me submit it in the first place.
Hope they pick it up. *crosses fingers and wills like made they do*
Edit: For anyone interested, this is the place I was skimming through. Lots of anthologies and such. Pretty neat, and worth a look. It was well recommended by the Nano crowds.
