“He got over killing you, but it took a while.”

“Your ass looks nice.”

“I will kill you if you don’t back off.”

“He’ll be fine.”

Well, nice for them. Sanzo didn’t usually warn a person before he attempted murder, and Homura had a firm believe that it was Sanzo’s fault they had to battle in the first place. And they both pretended that neither of them were worried about anyone still alive.

Still, it was nice, in a strange and twisted way, when Goku appeared.

He had looked around and then stared at Sanzo and Homura. “You killed the others, didn’t you?”

Sanzo snorted. “As if I would waste my bullets on them. The redheaded bastard just stuck around long enough to steal my cigarettes and Hakkai was only waiting for him.”

Homura felt the urge to roll his eyes. “They visited five or six time. More than enough for you to shoot them, Konzen.”

Sanzo ignored the use of the name, having long ago accepted both his past and the fact that it was some sort of pet name to Homura. Not that he would admit to knowing such a thing. Sanzo did not do pet names.

Goku smiled at the pair, and reached out his hands. Homura and Sanzo each took one. “I can’t believe you guys waited here for me.”

Neither of them told him that if they hadn’t been here, he wouldn’t have come to be reborn. That as an being born only of the earth, he would have returned to her. At least Homura had had a mortal mother.

He didn’t tell them that he knew he shouldn’t be here, that they were the only reason he still was. That he was still Son Goku.

Just as he didn’t tell them that he saw their hands brush far more often than enemies, or even friends, should have.

“I think it’s time you boys left,” came the amused voice of the Merciful Goddess. All three had just enough time to mentally growl before the white of the room intensified.

“Don’t worry. You’re leaving together. You’ll find one another soon enough.” the goddess chuckled. Smiling, she returned to her pool. Those three were going to make her life interesting again. Even if she had to annoy them to death for them to do it.
