Next part of Images to look over. You know, I only meant for this to be five parts long. So much for that goal. *snorts* Oh, well.
Balancing the cups, Ichiro started back for his family. He might not be allowed in the kitchen when cooking was going on, but he could fetch and carry like a pro.
Not that anyone had asked him to get everyone something to drink. But he couldn’t stay in the room. Every time he closed his eyes, he could see Al next to the bed, Ed’s hand pressed against his cheek.
It was hard to see his lover looking like this. Ed had been the first person he had ever really been with, and they had been together for years. It had amused him to no end to be able to tease Roy about the fact that Ed had been Ichiro’s steady lover longer than he had been Roy’s steady lover.
Now he wondered how he could stand this pain.
He knew Roy had gone to see the doctors, and he knew the other man was hiding something. It was easy to see by the way his alternate acted. Ichiro knew he wasn’t the only one to notice. Riza had seen it even before he had.
Whether or not Al had noticed was something Ichiro wasn’t certain about. Most likely the younger man had, but it was hard to tell. He was so intent on Ed that it frightened Ichiro a bit. It made him fear what Al might do if Ed didn’t make it.
The taste of blood filled the Japanese man’s mouth, and he realized that he had bitten the inside of his mouth. Hard.
He was afraid.
Long ago, Ichiro had accepted the fact that his life was here. It was a fact that he didn’t want to change. But, even here, he had a connection to his native world. Ed was someone he could share things with that would confuse the others. Sometimes, Ichiro was sure that the others humored him when he spoke about machines that could soar through the air, but Ed knew the truth.
Pausing, Ichiro watched with a detached curiosity as the cups shook. The last time he had carried cups like this was a few months ago. Their anniversary. He could remember the candlelight, and the amused expressions everyone had worn as they saw their own sappiness.
Swallowing hard, he forced down the lump that had appeared in his throat.
He would be there for the others. No mattered what happened. There would be no living with Ed otherwise.
Hands still shaking slightly, Ichiro headed for his family.

would = could?
There would be no living with Ed otherwise.
As in Ed wouldn't forgive them?
*will save gushing for the official post later*
God, I'm lovig this arc. So how long is it going to last?
*is sort of hoping to see Ed's long road to complete recovery...automail and all.*
...Er. Assuming he survives. Which he better. XD

Pretty close with the Ed thing. I'm Ichiro's thought pattern off my own after my nephew died. It's kinda a "he'll be mad if I make them handle this alone" type of thing. Irrational is a good description of how my thoughts were when Jackson died.
*grins* And you'll just have to wait and see what happens with Ed.

If Al had noticed or not was something Ichiro wasn’t certain about.
This is awkward. Try again with. "Whether or not Al had noticed..." or "Ichiro wasn't certain if..."

The would/could thing is bothering me. My mind is taking it both ways, but I'm not sure which way I like better. *glares at her non-helping plot bunnies, who only grin back at her* Stupid rabbits.
I'm going to look this over again in the morning. Just to see how it looks then. Thank you for checking it over, though.
