I'm back. I'm exhausted, and I'm back.
Babblings on the con are found behind this lj-cut
We left Friday morning, after about five hours of sleep. A quick stop at McDonalds, and we were on our way. A few hours later, we were there. First was the opening, where we were introduced to the guests of honor. I bowed to Greg Ayers after than, and he didn't run away. It was very cool.
After than, while waiting for the dealers room to open, we wandered around the artist alley. I spent the first of my cash on a badge on how boys in love were pretty. Tramatized one of the others who was with me, and had much fun with it.
Then the dealers room opened. I spent over a 150 dollars in less than an hour, but I kept my promise that I would at least make it around the dealer room once. I did it, but my wallet was much lighter. After a little bit more of wandering around, I took my stuff back to the room and started the Fullmetal Alchemist shrine around the TV. The first series of the little put-together figures looked excellent next to it.
I then hit the artist alley again. There I met Mindy, who is now on my "Pretty art people" list. I comissioned an Ed with kitty ears picture, and it was lovely. I spent something like 30 or 40 dollars at her booth getting various commisions done. One she asked to take home, as it turned out to be a drool worthy Roy/Ed picture, and she wanted a copy of it. ban_ch4n. Her stuff was familiar, and we ended up talked for a good long while. So long that I ended up going to her room as we chatted and she fed me. *huggles*
We bonded, and I ended up joining her and the others when they went down to the upper lobby and worked on costumes. We ended up staying there all night. About two or three, a drunkish man joined us and asked why we watched anime and why we came to the convention. He hung around for about four hours. About three or four, Grey Ayers joined us. He found out that I write slash, and asked me why people wrote about Sanzo and Goku together. He always thought Sanzo and Gojyo should be together, and that Hakkai and Goku should be.
It was great.
Didn't sleep at all that first night. Greg left about seven, seven thirty, as he had to be at a roundtable the next day at ten, and various other people wandered up and away. Thenban_ch4n and I decided we needed to have a yaoi con in the midwest. And we worked on it.
I went up to the room and changed into my Sanzo outfit, and then came back down. Hung around a lot, as I was running on five hours of sleep for more than twenty four hours, and then ran into my friends from home. We ran around a bit, then I went to change into the Hughes outfit for the cosplay contest. After that, Ban-chan and I went to the All Ages Yaoi Panel. It was great. I actually made the entire room groan. We were discussing "How on earth did they get pairings" shows, and I mentioned Hamtaru(however the hell it's spelled) and the entire room made this low moaning noise. About that point, Ban-chan and I had to leave, and as we got up to do so, we announced that if anyone was willing to help set up a midwestern yaoi con, we would be in the upper lobby that night. That got some happy sounds.
Later that night, went to the Hentai panel. That was fun as well. Made the entire room clap at that one. They were asking why we watched hentai, and I told the truth. I write smut, and it can help inspire me, plus it's fun to watch with a room full of people to make fun of it. Once again announced that anyone interested in the yaoi con should join us on upper lobby.
And they did. About half a dozen people showed up about 1 or 1:30 am, and we sat around tossing about ideas. They were flipped through my pretty FMA fanbook, including the one with Ed and Al having breast. A fun time was had by all.
After they left, my other friends came down, as we started watching Bleach. Then the security kicked everyone out, and we were not thrilled by that. That's the only reason I got sleep Saturday night, though. Six hours of it. *cheers*
Last day of con, had Mindy do two more commissions (Roy/Ed and Heero/Duo) and spent the last of my cash doing so. But now I have pretties. Drove home that night, and we had dinner at the Eggroll house, a chinese place near home. Then I went home, redid the FMA shrine, hung up the wall scroll my boyfriend got me, and put the Ed/Roy pillow on my bed. Talked to my mom a bit, and then fell asleep.
And much fun was had by all.
