This is what I get for listening to Mordred's Lullaby.

After feeling Sephiroth die for a second time, Lucretia rips herself out of her mostly dead state using the Jenova in her system, and hunts down Cloud. Cloud, who, occasionally, sleeps with strangers just to have some sort of human contact without the strings being with Tifa would cause. Lucrecia makes sure she's one of those strangers.

Fifteen years later..... Silver haired boy with bright blue eyes appears. And I'm not sure what happens from there, but the kid is all "Hello, Father." And Tifa is all "lasdjf;adsjf;lajd" at Cloud, and Vincent is studying the boy, trying to figure out why he looks so familiar, and Cloud is very much "....." And then the boy, who was raised by his mother to kill Cloud, does his very level best to destroy Cloud's life. Being all sneaky and shit as he does.



I need fire. Now. Need fire to kill it dead.

If I wasn't up to my earlobes in Kairi-centric plotbunnies some of which are probably Toward the Bad Place--think possible slave!fic and an arranged marriage fic I was supposed to do for NaNoWriMo last year, and if I was confident enough in my knowledge of FF7 to write it, I'd gladly take it off your hands.

What an evil bunny O_o

I guess a lot of people would like to see it written, but I actually don't at all. XD;; I've stopped reading books and manga because I can't stand the "child raised/used by a parent to harm the other parent" plot. It stretches my belief to snapping points, usually because it requires that everyone involved fight for the idiot ball instead of focusing on the obvious clues and source of the problems... including the child itself, who never questions their bitch parent's orders/beliefs, and seems to love him/her no matter how much of a crazy abuser he/she was and how much kinder their new family may be.

The only time I actually enjoyed this plot was in xxxHolic, where the kid was actually fully aware of her mother's intentions and wanted something better for her life. Which meant the whole plot was subverted to hell and back.

Well, it was based off a song based off Morgan le Fey's use of Mordred that way. I'm still a bit more boggled at the idea of Seph and the kid being half brothers.

And I can see him doing it simply because he doesn't feel like he should get close to anyone, but he needs the human contact.

I, myself, see him having a great deal of issues with being touched by people he doesn't know and trust, after the years of experimentation. But like I said, that's a question of how you interpret the canon and stretch its ramifications.

Good luck getting rid of that one. Meself, I wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole. Of course, this is as much because my internal head-canon for Cloud is that he's Kinsey 2 (mostly focussed on men, occasionally interested in women, will tend to look for male partners rather than female for preference) as it is because, like EleanorPam, I tend to dislike plots which require all the characters to be fighting for the stupid ball. I figure they're all intelligent enough to figure out the joys of contraception (and quite honestly, I can't see Cloud being willing to risk having offspring in the first place - but then, that may be me projecting my own rationalisations onto the character).

And I'm going to shut up now, because my fic brain is waking up and saying things like "give me a bit of time to think about this, I might be able to make it work...". Excuse me while I make liberal use of the brain bleach.

...Thirding elanor and megpie. My argument would actually be more against Lucretia: when I played the game, she didn't come off as someone who would take revenge, especially considering (according to this bunny) she felt him die the FIRST time. Why did she not attempt to come after Cloud then?
Also, the actions sound more like something Hojo would come up with than Lucretia, but again, everyone interprets canon differently. But i dunno, I'm not a writer.

The way the brain was going, it was a violent reaction because this was the second time he's done it, and it was as much Jenova's reaction from the cells Lucretia had as Lucretia's.
