Oh, Nesa's a friend of Zack's anyway - she's entitled to laugh at him. She's also a lesbian, which is why she isn't particularly worried about pregnancy, and why she's making a particular sacrifice by letting the secretarial pool think the one who's pregnant is her. Now the office gossip network will be busy with all kinds of questions about who might be the father, and whether she's been lying about her sexuality and so on and so forth, and nobody will actually be looking too hard at Zack until the pregnancy starts to show.
By that time, Nesa will have faked a "miscarriage" and won't be pregnant any more - she may actually time it so her "miscarriage" happens just about the time Zack's pregnancy starts to show, winning him another week or two of relief from the gossip network. Unfortunately, after that, he's on his own.
