My Reason: I love this fic, it’s a beautiful thing over Ichigo dealing with his world being turned upside down and dealing with the things he went through and the new things he finds.

Summary: In which Kisuke catches Ichigo trying to drown himself in the river, prompting the awkward revelation that Ichigo can’t actually drown.

My Reason: Ichigo is stressed to the point he does something that appears to be drastic. Like almost all of Hobbiton’s stuff, absolutely beautiful.

Title: Time Qualifies the Spark

Summary: Ichigo and Tatsuki are the ultimate bros who ultimately get accidentally engaged.

My Reason: A lot of what drives Ichigo seems to be avoiding things that hurt him. Tatsuki helps out a lot

Summary: Three weeks after Yhwach's defeat, Ichigo isn't coping with the aftermath. At all.

Something soft might be just what the doctor ordered.

My reason: It’s just lovely, as is most of Murderlight’s work.

Summary: Urahara Kisuke is a blade, the sharpest Ichigo has ever felt cut into his flesh. Ichigo was slashed by Zabimaru's cruel spikes, was stabbed clean through by Senbonzakura and nearly bled to death — yet for all that Urahara's Benihime has so far only ever left surface wounds during training, Ichigo never feels more like he's facing his own death than he does when Urahara points a sword at him.

(Ichigo had been too caught up in becoming stronger to wonder about that, then. Too desperate to gain every drop of power he could to save Rukia, too hard-headed to pause for a moment, too young and brash to step back and think. To wonder why his instincts looked at Renji and Byakuya, who'd left him for dead, and howled for a fight; but looked at Urahara, who'd saved his life, and whispered, "Monster.")

My reason: The PTSD isn’t obvious yet, but you can see it starting to build. Very excited to see where this is going.

My reason: It’s not blatant, but there is an undercurrent of it with Ichigo suddenly being ripped from everything he knew before.

Ichigo is quiet and safe, hidden in plain sight, but even that can't last forever.

My reason: Again, not a focus point, but you can see it clearly through his reactions to things.

Summary: Ichigo makes friends in his new magic school by giving them food.

My reason: So many people need therapy here, for trauma we never see

Title: Hero, Martyr, Idiot

Fandom: Bleach
Summary: The day Ichigo gets back on his feet with a deadline hanging over his head, he goes right back to scowling at Renji’s antics and arguing semantics with Ishida and making fun of Rukia, and everyone around him breathes a collective sigh of relief when they see it. Isshin does one better and laughs, “That’s my son; nothing puts him down for long! I told you he’d be alright!”

Shinji just squints dubiously at him, at all of them, and wonders, “Are ya really that stupid?”

Or, the one in which Shinji tells the Captain-Commander where to stick it, packs his bags, barges back into Ichigo's life, and refuses to leave.

My reason: Everything Cross writes is amazing, and here is Shinji working on helping Ichigo recover from all the shit that came before.

Summary: “You’re just like my brother,” Kukaku tells him, eyes full of quiet empathy when she catches Ichigo sneaking out of the Shiba house in the middle of the night yet again, too tired to train but too restless to sleep with thoughts of Rukia’s execution plaguing him and the foreign night wind coaxing him outside. “You want to run with the wind.”

My reason: A beautiful fic of dealing with loss of powers and living after a war that took them.
