Indeed there is a very nice "classic" fairy tale flavor to this. Stolen hearts, cursed brothers, enchantments, evil witches, chases, escapes, true love... oh wait, that's the Princess Bride... :)

Even the writing is very evocative of a spoken tale, rather than a written one.
